Adopt Now!
All Guinea Pigs, we ask for a £30 adoption fee for per piggy to ensure the rescue stays funded! This is the donation suggestion based on our finances. We are happy to accept any donation!
We try to match personalities of the guinea pigs to potential owners, so we will talk to you and get to know your situation, what your looking for, and we will help find you the perfect guinea pigs.
We will ask to see their set ups etc before we move forward with adoption.
Adopting means you automatically agree and consent to the terms and conditions of the adoption process.
*We are no longer rehoming to families with children under 14 years old due to the high surrender rate of parents rehoming because their children are no longer interested. *Please bare in mind children are NOT capable carers for living animals, this falls solely on the responsibilty of the appropriate adults.
You can reserve for 1 month on a guinea pig!
PAIR 2
Boar Brothers- 1 Year

So these two came as a group of 4, but these were the strongest bond! They come from a loving home, from a wrongly sexed incident that lead to a litter. The previous owner was amazing and wanted to keep them, however circumstances changed and she was forced to look at finding new homes!
They are both slightly nervous but the long haired one is even more nervous and quite hard to handle, even for someone as experienced as myself. I expect part of this is down to lack of handling but I also imagine for the long haired it's also part of his personality! They are very good together and I haven't witnessed bickering the way I normally do with two young boys either, so I suspect they will have a lovely strong life long bond together.
We are looking for a home who is understanding of the fact that they are extremely nervous boys and rough handling may cause them to become even more traumatised, so someone who can be slow and careful when handling is essential. Someone that understands the general care of the animal is also a massive thing, expecially with one been slightly long haired, so been able to regular brush and trim is essentially to do, and with plenty of patience. They need someone who has the time and patience to build a human to piggy bond and help make them feel confident. As they are young this would be a fantastic thing to be able to offer them!
PAIR 4
Est 6 months & 4/5 month old Boars
Reserved until 28/09/22

These beautiful pigs came in separately and are not related, however the funky little dude is estimated around 6 months old, as he was brought from a pet shop around 2 months old, and then ended up having babies due to a mis sex as he was meant to be female, which would make him about 5/6 months old currently. This was also the reason for his surrender unfortunately, mixed with personal issues for the previous owner, leading to the surrender of the whole family of piggies! The chocolate coloured boy, was also ironically meant to be a girl and also ended up getting his cage mate pregnant which is what caused the surrender for him also! He was 16 weeks old on surrender so is 4/5 months old too, meaning they are similar in age and experiences. They bonded really well together, which is amazing as the older boy had issues with bonding prior meeting the beautiful chocolate boy! They need to wait out a few weeks to allow the bond to settle and form completely before adoption.
Both of them have lacked handling due to their experiences and age, meaning they are essentially very nervous boys but their age means they also have the potential to warm up to an owner who can put the time and effort in and give them the home they deserve with time, patience and love! They are both such sweet natured boys, and I can see them settling into a loving home with someone who can give them the time!
They are coping so well in minimum space with each other and even though some hormones are flowing they have settled into the bond amazingly.
If you think they would be well suited to your family, please contact me so we can have a chat and discuss, due to the bonding time left!
Pair 7
Dave & Ginger -
est 12 & 18 month Boars

Ginger (can you Guess which one?) Came to us with his brother, for us to find it wasn't a match made in heaven. This is a common rescue issue where people assume siblings are a good match because they were raised in the same litter, but as piggies get older, it doesn't necessarily mean they like each other and this unfortunately was the case for Ginger and his brother. Both ended up with injuries. This was because the stress of moving into rescue just broke the already cracked relationship, and within days of arriving they ended up fighting. On separation Ginger had received an injury to his eye which later got infected and he spent a long time healing, and unfortunately the infection it lead to, caused him partial blindness in that eye. Unfortunately his likely to loose all sight eventually. This was just the Cherry on the cake as he came from a background which was questionable!
Dave also came in with his brother and ironically also for similar reasons didn't get on, but he has been separated prior to arrival luckily, as the previous owner quickly recognised the mis-matched relationship. As they were similar in age to, it was decided it would be a good idea to try their bond! It started off rocky as both had limited socialisation and poor experience, but within the day they settled and we moved them into a living space together to settle a bond. Bonding is a long process as it takes 3 weeks for a bond to develop thoroughly, so every treat you buy helps to support this process and the veterinary care in instances like Ginger!
They still have their moments like most boys, but their bond is good also! Someone whose aware of behaviours and knows what is normal, is a good thing, as sometimes they can chatter teeth etc which can be scary if you don't know it's normal, amongst other things! Both will need a home with a lot of understanding and patience and neither have been handled well, and Ginger for example wasn't handled at all really! Dave looks as if he may take longer to warm up and feel comfortable with someone too, so it's essential they have someone whose going to have the time and patience, with plenty of treats and little and often handling, to help them feel more comfortable. There is a character difference too, so one may take to it more than the other. Ginger is also medium length fur, so been able to trim around his bum and understand the importance of fur maintainace is also crucial as it can effect his health of not trimmed and maintained!
Pair 9
CARAMEL AND TOFFEE!- 11 month old Brothers

Caramel and Toffee came from a loving and experienced home, unfortunately due to a child with extra needs, who needed to be prioritized, these lovelies ended up with us. Unfortunately they were also rescued prior to that, so we are hoping we can find a home that is their final destination.
They are such an amazing pair and have been handled and are ever so lovely. They live together beautifully and have been together since birth, so have a lovely bond together, but Toffee is the dominant of the two and caramel is submissive and slightly more timid too.
They would be perfect for first time piggy parents and would suit well in a family home! As they are young been able to provide floor time and plenty of enrichment is something they would need, but other than that, they are just waiting for their perfect forever home!
