 Facebooks Opinion

Dominica - "Hey! How are you? I have both boys and girls. I honestly went off of what i liked and sex didn't matter to me. I think it depends on the piggies personalities. I don't think one is better over the other. Both make great pets and are loving. As long as they are treated and cared for correctly. I've had many girls and boys over the years. Both make great pets for kids! I don't have a preference"

Susan - "Boys are very messy, that's all I know! Like adolescent humans!"

Caitlin - " Males are harder to bond with others. My females are more active than my boys."

Christy - "Pros/Cons for genders

Pros: -females you have a better chance of successfully adding to them down the road (aka herd is a possibility) whereas males are best in pairs.

-Females are less likely to have fallouts among one another

-Females dont require the space that males do therefore arent room hogs in small places like apartments and such (Lol).

Con: -Boar glue and cleanings 🤢

-Boars' teenage dominance spouts

What sex do I prefer?

Knowing this, id have preferred to get females but i have males. And while id love to add to them, i cannot 😔

Why did I choose this sex?

There were no local females available.

Things I have learned about the sex I own.

Im told males are more cuddle bugs but ive only had mine for almost 4 months now so they arent there yet. Im also told males are messier but i dont have females to know the difference 🤷🏽‍♀️

Who do I think is better to own?

I think for first time owners, females are best so they do have that option to add to them down the road if it came up and they wouldnt have to worry about learning how to do boar cleanings and performing them. Females also have less of a chance of fallouts down the road whereas males are likely if anyone is going through their teenage years which brings up separating (which means more cages and the like) and getting them partners so they arent lonely and so forth. So you end up with separate pairs due to complications rather than just a simple setup with a pair of females. Granted, it could happen to females too but the chance are MUCH lower. Especially if you purchase a pair that are already together."
