Guinea pig behaviour can be quite different depending on the animals inducing personality type as well as what they have learnt in their lifetime.

This is why there is a massive difference in males and females.

Between 0-3 months is when guinea pigs learn their social set skills from adults, how to behave appropriately, and all their survival skills and much more.

This continues well into their life but like children have to learn how to function from parents, guinea pigs have to learn how to function from adults.

When babies are born, boys are often separately at a very young 3 weeks old for fertility reasons whereas females often stay with mom's until 6-8 weeks old before been separated for re-home.

At 3 weeks old they are just weaning off kok and have just learnt how to eat and drink etc, they haven't even touched the surface on how to interact properly!

Girls get several more weeks and a good chunk of that 3 months! And often moms and daughters stay together or girls are in herds, meaning these skills are learnt and passed down in generations, and therefore also embedded in them naturally more than males

This is genuinely why males are harder to bond and have more issues.

This is also what I work hard to correct and change before boars go out to new homes, and why often I'm full with only a handful up for adoption!!
